7.  What lens or filter do you recommend?

I usually use a wide angle lens with no color correction. It is a personal preference. Color correcting lenses are available at a minimal cost.  I recommend this simple                     I strongly recommend turning off the auto focus. Many cameras will focus on the lens, a scratch, a fingerprint etc. The focal point for infinity is usually only an inch or two beyond the wide angle lens. Also set the zoom to minimum.

Tip:  Try color correcting during the video editing.  All of our website videos are minimally edited.  I prefer the video to look like what I actually saw during the dive.

Note on color corrective lenses: They work by attenuating the light colors other than red to restore the balance, i.e. they remove some portion of the non-red light...thus less photons reach your CCD.

In reduced light conditions, the filter will make it difficult, if not impossible to see what one could see without a color correcting lens.
